What will my Heart of the Cotswolds tour be like?

The Cotswolds are famous worldwide for their beautiful stone walls and villages. With our Cotswolds born local driver guide you’ll combine the classic sights of The Cotswolds with journeys off the beaten track to discover the true heart of this stunning area.

Your day begins with morning coffee in a rustic Cotswolds stone barn before exploring places that include Stow on the Wold, Lower Slaughter and Upper Slaughter and a host of less well known villages, equally if not prettier. There will be plenty of opportunities to pause and stroll and take photographs, crowd free.

You’ll combine your tour of the heart of The Cotswolds with a delicious pub lunch (included) at one of our handpicked Cotswolds country inns. 

Price:-  For two guests from £495 per person, for 3 guests from £365 per person with your own private guide. For solos, and 4 to 6 guests please enquire.

Included:- Pick up and return Kemble Train Station (for connections to London Paddington in 69 minutes), or your accommodation by arrangement,  a warm expert local driver guide, a day’s private tour for you and your party, incorporating Stow on the Wold, The Slaughters and hidden local villages, morning coffee and a pub lunch and drink.

If you prefer a chauffeured car from London or Bath, or your accommodation please let us know.

To Kemble Train Station 4.30 to 5.30 pm or if you prefer a chauffeured return to your accommodation please let us know.

This tour is available to book all week, Sunday through to Saturday for 1 to 6 guests. It is a private tour, just for you and your party.

On this tour you will find that combined with scenic driving of The Cotswolds you’ll also have the balance of being able to get out of the vehicle and stroll. This is typically in 30 – 60 minute periods, the perfect amount of time to stretch your legs and get the best views of the market towns, villages and countryside. Of course if you prefer less or more strolling just let us know when you book.

We leave some things as a surprise and also don’t reveal hidden, off the beaten track and away from tourist trail villages and locations to help protect them from overtourism.

In the Cotswolds your driver guide will be Drive and Stroll’s co-founder David Howell. David grew up in the Cotswolds and has been exploring it all of his life. You’ll be able to listen to wonderful stories as you walk if you wish of course and ask David questions.

Itinerary

9.30 am You’ll be met and welcomed at Kemble train station in the Cotswolds (69 minutes direct to London Paddington) or your accommodation. Alternatively we can have you met by chauffeured car in London or in Bath.

Mid morning – Enjoy coffee in a rustic Cotswolds barn, a delightful setting as we talk over the day’s plans.

We take a scenic drive through less well known but equally as pretty and historic villages of The Cotswolds, pausing on route for a short stroll and to take photographs. 

Late morning – Visit the Cotswolds wool town of Northleach. Here we’ll take a short stroll and explore the stunning church. 

1 pm A delicious lunch at a country pub 

In the afternoon enjoy a scenic drive through a variety of beautiful Cotswolds villages that will lead us to the iconic Stow on the Wold. Time here to explore at your leisure. 

Onwards, to spectacular villages including Lower and Upper Slaughter and others which lie off the tourist trails. Enjoy these before we return you to Kemble train station for your onward travel or your accommodation.
