South West England has been Alison and David Howell’s home for five decades. It’s our back yard. The place we love and know best and we have built extensive local knowledge.

What’s so special about South West England (the largest and most diverse of England’s nine regions)? It is its rich variety of history, landscapes, architecture, and in addition its unique villages and towns. 

Divided into English counties they include Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Gloucestershire which also includes the Cotswolds. Each county offers something unique in terms of architecture, history and stories and landscapes. And this keeps many of our guests returning for more adventures. About South West England

South West England is the largest of England’s nine regions. Home to Stonehenge, Avebury stone circle, Stourhead Landscape Gardens, and in addition Bath and Salisbury cathedral. However, it’s also home to places which won’t appear on a Google search or in most tour itineraries. It’s these places we love to show you. The secret and the hidden gems. The crowd free.  The England you’ve probably dreamed of but not known how to access. The places only a local would know. 

How to travel to South West England

For travel here by air, look at London Heathrow Airport or the smaller regional Bristol Airport. From here we can advise.

From London we can arrange a chauffeured car for you to the West Country or you can travel easily and quickly by train. For example you can travel from London to Kemble in the Cotswolds for example in just 60 minutes or to Wiltshire in 85 minutes. We can meet and welcome you at the train station or your accommodation.
